[edit] Dialogue

[edit] Briefing

The Director:

Welcome to the belly of the beast. We've been keeping an eye on you, soldier. We think you'd be a fine addition to our organization.
Here at Penumbra we operate in the shadows. On the periphery, if you will. We have a mandate from the highest command echelon in the AFS. These are the guys the generals answer to. This mandate allows us to operate independently, and with impunity. Our techniques are state-of-the-art, and our methods are often controversial, but we get results.
This complex is divided into five different subsections. Each of these can only be accessed through a local teleporter with restricted access. Level One clearance lets you access Section One. Level Two, Section Two, and so on.
If you're ready to sign on, enter Section One and speak to Administrator Alexander. You're already cleared as a Level One operative.

[edit] Speak to Administrator Alexander

Penumbra Administrator Alexander:
Who the hell are you?

[edit] Debriefing

Penumbra Administrator Alexander:

New operative,eh? Welcome aboard.
Here in Section One our operations concern Information Technology. That's a hell of a lot more interesting than it sounds. See, recently we were able to push through Article 268 of the AFS Uniform Code of Military Justice. We call it "The Diogenes Directive." It's all about keeping our people honest. Basically it gives us the tools to intercept and obstruct enemy sympathizers within the ranks of the AFS by covertly monitoring communications and email, as well as accessing intelligence, medical, and financial records with impunity.
That gives us a lot of power. We only use it to protect our own, of course, but it's a great responsibility, nonetheless.
