A recipe is a single-use item needed for modification, the act of adding or improving enhancements on weapons, armor or tools. Recipes have a modifier, a target, a list of requirements and a set crafting time.

The modifier specifies the enhancement that can be added or improved. Aside from the recipe and the item to be modified, a modification component corresponding to the modifier is also required.

The target specifies what kind of equipment can be modified. The target can be generic (all weapons, all armor) or specific (only Pistols, only Motor Assist Armor, etc). The target also specifies a maximum level for the equipment to be modified (always a multiple of 5).

The requirements indicate which character level is needed to perform the crafting. Modification also requires novice level (level 1) in the engineering skill corresponding to the modifier.

The crafting time is how long the modification takes to perform.
