- Time is of the essence. I need you to get to Field Commander McReddy northeast of here and get to the bottom of this Strider surge and gain access to the Bane's Howling Maw Volcano base.
- Your discovery of the Bane base inside the Howling Maw Volcano has rattled AFS Command. From your description, Intel at AFS Command has come to the conclusion that this base is a major hub and staging ground for all of the Bane's activity on this planet and possibly others. I know it sounds farfetched, but Intel surmised that the geothermal activity from the volcano makes a perfect, limitless energy supply for a large facility like this Bane base - enough energy, in fact, to house a subterranean base that can control a war advance of the Bane's magnitude.
- I'm sending you out to meet up with Field Recon Commander McReddy. He's been my forward observer in the field for several days, now, and has come across some interesting developments. He can fill you in on the details of what he needs done out there. Gather what you need and move out! We need to find out how shut down the Bane in this Area ASAP!

There is a small group of AFS soldier just south of Dia Toma on your map. With them is a portable waypoint and Field Commander McReddy. (393, 210, 13) Speak to McReddy to continue.
