Rarity
From TaRapedia
In TR, weapons (including tools) and armor have various levels of rarity. The level of rarity can be identified by the color of the background of the item's tooltip's title when moused over. Items gain a boost in ranged damage, melee damage, healing/repair potential and armor rating depending on the equipment type and level of rarity. Items with higher rarity also have higher amounts of modifiers and higher modifier values, although these can be changed through Modification. The levels in order of increasing rarity are:
- Normal - Grey color, no attack/armor boost, no base modifiers.
- Modified - Green color, +20% attack/armor boost, 2 base modifiers.
- Experimental - Blue color, +40% attack/armor boost, 3 base modifiers.
- Prototype - Purple color, +60% attack/armor boost, 4 base modifiers.
Set armor pieces have gold tooltip backgrounds, but are generally of Experimental quality (the blue background shows up if the piece is placed on the Military Surplus). The exception would be the Mark IX suits, which are of Prototype quality.
Crafting Modules are not technically tied to this rarity system, but they use the same color scheme to indicate their level. Level 5 modules show up with a red background.
