The Neph are a xenophobic and agressive splinter group of the peaceful and altruistic Eloh. Eventually they overthrew the Eloh as the leaders of the people. Using the Thrax as their main fighters they formed a powerful army (the "Bane") to subdue all other intelligent alien species across the galaxy, ruling as tyrants. They are led by Samael.

In the end-world event, the Developers participated by playing Neph character models.
