Local teleporter

From TaRapedia

(Redirected from Local teleporters)

Local teleporters are short-range travel devices found throughout Tabula Rasa. Unlike waypoint teleporters, they only have one destination, and may only work one-way. They do not bring up a destination selection screen, and instead teleport the character as soon as he steps foot on its' platform.

Local teleporters can be found in a number of places.

  • AFS bases, typically leading into underground or restricted areas.
  • Guard towers, leading from the ground floor to the first floor.
  • Instances, typically one is available at the end of an instance to bring the player back to the start without having to backtrack the whole way. Some also lead to different sections of the map.
    • Note that certain instances, such as Kardash Atta Colony have full waypoint systems, allowing players to select which waypoint within the instance to go to.

Some local teleporters can be seen on the map window (default key: M) by enabling the relevant map filter, while others can't. For example, those in Thunderhead Base are visible, while those in Fort Virgil in Descent aren't mapped.

Some local teleporters are also restricted, being unusable prior to having completed certain conditions, or sometimes becoming unusable in a similar fashion. For example, some in Tantalus Base in Abyss only become usable after obtaining a certain level of clearance with Penumbra.
