Hortimonculus is a ability of the Exobiologist class.
- "Deploy a living/micromechanical hybrid construct that exudes a regenerative aura which improves the Health regeneration rates of the user and nearby allies."
Usage[]
Must be cast on a dead enemy.
Casting this destroys the corpse and creates a Hortimonculus (a plant which radiates a healing aura).
The aura radius is 20 meters, and all squadmates receives a heal every 5 seconds. Squad members may use (target and press T/ mouse2) the Hortimonculus to receive an individual heal right away, however this causes the hortimonculus' own health to drop faster.
Squadmates within the aura range of the Hortimonculus also receive increases to their resistances corresponding to the immunities and resistances of the creature it was cast on. If the creature was immune to a damage type all squadmates in range receive a 10% resistance increase to that damage type for each point put in the skill. If the creature was resistant to something a lower percentage of that resistance will be granted to the squadmates.
For example: At rank 5, if cast on a Kael 50% of all physical and fire damage received by the squadmates will be reduced. If cast on a Lightbender, 50% of all laser damage taken will be reduced. In combination with the health regen, this makes it a very powerful defensive skill at control points.
As the Hortimonculus heals (over time and individual), it depletes its own health until it runs out and dies.
Enemies will aggro the hortimonculus if they get in range of it, however it does not appear to generate any threat by itself.
