Eloh Hologram:

You've proven your understanding of self-sacrifice for the sake of others. Now it is time for your second trial.

When the humans of the AFS first arrived on Foreas, the Foreans were naturally skeptical of human intentions, despite their welcoming exterior personae. Through careful negotiations and cooperation, trust built between the humans and the Foreans, but there was one event in the past that forever solidified the alliance between the two species. It is during this time that you will be tested.

You will pass through the teleporter to my left and arrive at Foreas Base during its construction. The Bane, knowing that the alliance between the humans and Foreans was fragile, launched an attack on Foreas Base with the intent of killing the Forean diplomat, Villaran. Doing so would cripple the alliance, thus crumbling the cooperative fighting force of an allied human and Forean force.

Go through the teleporter and seek out Colonel Fonseca of Foreas Base. You will arrive during the Bane assault, so be ready for combat. Learn from this trial what it is to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

Good GAWD! All Hell's breakin' loose out there! We gotta hold our ground! You! You need to make sure Diplomat Villaran here doesn't get killed. I need you to take him to the drop-ship outside so he can get away from this attack. Protecting him is your first priority. The future of Human - Forean relations depends on it!

Great work on getting Diplomat Villaran outta here, but I'm afraid there's no time to celebrate. I just got information that a Bane Taskmaster is headed in here with his personal strike force. Things are about to get really hot around here. Help us defeat him and we'll have a shot here on Foreas.

Kill the Striders immediately, doing this will make sure the friendly NPCs can handle the assault. Chances are the taskmaster will be killed before you even get the objective to kill him, which is perfectly fine.
