An area is a type of location. It is the 4th level of the location type hierarchy:

• Planet
  • Continent
    • Zone
      • Area

Each zone usually consists of several areas. You can tell your current area by checking the mini map in the lower right corner of the screen. The area name is displayed above the radar.
